Code & simulation

An in-house library for field studies that the operator can own.

Open-source simulation, Python workflows and layered quality control, assembled per field. Access is by conversation.

The approach

Open-source simulation, assembled per field

Each field gets a persistent setup: an open-source simulator such as OPM Flow, a catalogued data store, Python workflows and written procedures that people and AI agents both follow. Roughly four studies in five no longer need a monolithic licence. The reasoning is set out in Simulation without the silo.

Owned by the operator

Code, data and procedures stay with the asset. The next engineer can rerun every result.

Ensembles, not base cases

When a run costs only compute, decisions rest on hundreds of cases and a distribution, not on one favourite model.

Layered quality control

Every automated step is checked by an independent one: units, physical plausibility and analogue comparison.

In-house Python library

What the library covers

Built and maintained in-house and used on live studies. The library is not public: modules are deployed into a client's own field setup under licence, with the code handed over so the operator owns the result.

Production analytics

  • Data reconciliation with quality flags
  • Decline analysis to EUR at a common abandonment basis
  • Dimensionless type curves for cross-field comparison
  • Robust P10 / P50 / P90 with hindcast testing

Reservoir engineering

  • Material balance and PVT uncertainty
  • Gas condensate deliverability
  • Waterflood performance and layered sweep diagnostics
  • Experimental design and Latin hypercube ensembles

Decisions and benchmarking

  • Analogue-field benchmark builder
  • Small-field development screening
  • Value-of-information and regret analysis for well count and completion choice
  • Automated report and paper generation with QC

Simulation tooling

  • Open-source simulator run management and post-processing
  • Simulation output readers independent of any vendor
  • Local grid refinement for near-well CO2 injection
  • Fluid property sweeps

CO2 storage and souring

  • Depleted-field storage: pressure-limited capacity, cooling and salt effects, legacy-well screening
  • Reservoir souring: mixing, microbial kinetics, partitioning and scavenging, in development

Bring me the decision you cannot get comfortable with.

Field developments, benchmarking, open-source simulation, modular energy, or building regenerative-medicine capacity in the region: one conversation is usually enough to know whether I can help.
